M...It sounds like your Gran was a beautiful person. May she rest in peace and finally find comfort. Distance is a terrible thing. My grandfather passed away at the beginning of this year...he only met me once very briefly when I was a baby. He never met my brother and sister. My mother hadn't seen him in about 10 years and a scheduled trip came too late. My grandmother still lives in Italy and we have never met her. She is very old and frail and chances are, due to our circumstances, that she will also pass without us ever meeting. It breaks my heart that that is how life mapped itself out...Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12100344594099646839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687332889212452428.post-83212173426104114332008-12-21T00:13:00.000+10:302008-12-21T00:13:00.000+10:30Dear Caitlin, what a lovely and moving tribute.Dear Caitlin, what a lovely and moving tribute.Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00822383355869390919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687332889212452428.post-62512192918691552762008-12-21T00:03:00.000+10:302008-12-21T00:03:00.000+10:30Thank you all for your comments, I feel very fortu...Thank you all for your comments, I feel very fortunate to have such wonderful blog friends.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687332889212452428.post-36576046645694950292008-12-20T22:38:00.000+10:302008-12-20T22:38:00.000+10:30(it is late but I just wanted to come and ask if y...(it is late but I just wanted to come and ask if you clicked the birds back on the Land of Mystery and Magick.. if you do, you are whisked to faeryland, will be back tomorrow to read this about your gran xo)

My gran died on my 10th birthday and then my nan died about 26 years ago. I only had one grandmother, and she too succumbed to dementia, dying at 87 in a nursing home. She too didnt know us at all, we would visit, but she would look at us with huge dazzlingly blue eyes, full of worry and fear as shestared at us, there was no flicker of comprehension or recognition at all.

she is at peace now, as is your own sweet gran.

Leanne xLeannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09573431221299174647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687332889212452428.post-48136614179905450092008-12-20T17:26:00.000+10:302008-12-20T17:26:00.000+10:30My last-surviving grandmother died ten years ago n...My last-surviving grandmother died ten years ago next month.
