Anything going on in my life is trivial by comparison and I have no heart for blogging today.

holding your hands Caitlin as Vicoria goes through this.. Australian people really are amazing... so much money will be donated over the next days. Not that it will help those that have died but at least it will help ease the burden for their families.
So true Robyn, I saw a news report showing the huge piles of donated clothing, blankets and food that is already coming through to the relief centres. A small thing in all the devastation, but needed.

Yes it is a sad time and one that we are very focused on as it is in our backyard.
Unfortunately sad times happen all the time around the world.
The good news is that nothing is ever all sad.

I'll be doing a post on this as well and providing the link... an absolute tragedy beyond comprehension. Makes me angry that so many of the fires were deliberately lit...a natural disaster is one thing, but we can't call this a natural disaster if most of it was man-made :(
Hi Ribbon, I agree, there are always tragedies around the world, I think it's the unprecedented enormity of this one that is as you say..in our own back yard..that makes it so much in the forefront of our minds. Which is just as it should be really.
I hope all is ok with your relatives Laoi, it must be frightening for them. The reports are that the weather change has created some new problems in that the change in wind direction and speed sets the fire off into new areas. What they really need is a downpour, not forecast unfortunately.
I know what you mean Cathy, in the midst of it all they continued to re-light fires and even yesterday someone was lighting fires in a national park near here. Unbelievable.
