Mentally that is.  Not very focussed right now, feeling a little lost and bewildered and unsure of what the future holds for me.  I feel change coming, or maybe I just hope there is.

Tom and I had a quiet weekend at home (it was his birthday on Friday) the girls were away and we spent a lot of time doing not very much at all. Cooked some nice food, drank some nice wine, had conversations (uninterrupted) watched a couple of movies, read the papers and our respective books.  Just a lazy weekend really.  Nice.

I had a horribly sleepless night on Saturday, one of the worst ever.  Usually insomnia catches me in the middle of night, I get to sleep ok but then wake up and can’t get back to sleep for hours. This time I couldn’t even get to sleep at all.  I tossed and turned and paced the house and made warm drinks and did some meditation and tried mindful breathing etc etc etc. Nothing.  I last looked at the clock at 5.00am, I must have fallen asleep soon after that but woke again at 6.10 then again at 7.40.  Felt pretty crappy yesterday and although I slept ok last night I’m still tired and fuzzy headed (before you say it.. more than usual) today.

So until I catch up don’t expect anything coherent from me…and even then I can’t promise….

My painkillers have an after-effect on my sleep - they make me drowsy first night, but then do the opposite as they wear off. I took a tablet on Thursday, and so for the last few nights I've woken up suddenly, wide-awake, in the middle of the night, having had a very vivid dream. I can't then get back to sleep at all.

I'm dopey all the time though, so no-one will notice.

I can feel real sympathy with you over the night wanderings. My hubby says I only have a sleepless night because I want to play on the computer un-interrupted by his nagging.
He never has a problem and could sleep on a clothes line.
I do love playing on the computer but NOT that much.

Well that sounds extremely unpleasant Dave. One of those situations where you need 'uppers' to counteract the 'downers' and then some 'downers' to counteract the 'uppers'. Or something.

I've no idea what I'm on about either.

I wouldn't mind so much if I got something productive done while I'm wide awake...I have in the past written blog posts and articles and all kinds of things at 3am. Not so much these days.

It's true Granny, the upside of night wandering is that you get things like the computer and TV to yourself I suppose. Perhaps if I could become addicted to online games or Second Life or something it might not be so actually that would be worse :-)

I hate waking up at those times and tossing, turning, tossing, turning.. I wonder why we do it... wonder if it is connected to the moon phase? but the past few nights has been the same for me.. must check my moon diary.

I think Peter Rabbit had lettuce tea to help him sleep.. but I am not a rabbit.
